Wichita, Kan. -- UPDATE:
Wichita police are investigating after a 48 year old tow truck driver was shot while driving near downtown.
The man told police he was traveling south in the 600 block of north Washington around 7:45 Wednesday night when a white Pontiac pulled up beside him.
The victim says the driver of the car pulled out a gun and fired three shots. Two of the shots hit the victim, once in the arm and once in the lower back. The victim called 911 and drove himself to the hospital, still driving his tow truck.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 20's, wearing all black clothing and a red and black ball cap. He was last seen leaving the area going east on Central.
The victim is being treated at a local hospital.
A repo man is being treated for gunshot wounds after a shooting near downtown Wichita.
It happened shortly before 8 p.m. near Central and Washington. The victim called 911 to report he had been shot and that he was driving himself to the hospital.
The man arrived at Via Christi-St. Francis hospital a short time later. His current condition has not been released.
Wichita Police recovered shell casings in the parking lot of a nearby carwash at Central and Washington. So far, no arrests have been made, but police are still in the early stages of the investigation.
