Police Investigate After Men Reportedly Beaten, Robbed In Old Town

Wichita police are investigating after two men were reportedly beaten and robbed in Old Town early Sunday morning.

Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said the 20- and 21-year-old victims showed up at Wesley Medical Center, saying they had been beaten and robbed by 10 to 15 people at around 1:40 a.m. near East 1st Street and Washington.

They told police they were sitting on a bench when the group approached them. After a verbal augment, the two victims went to their car to leave when the altercation turned physical.

One victims says he lost consciousness after being hit in the face. He told police his necklace, phone and wallet were taken. He was treated for cuts and released.

The second victims told police he was punched and kicked while on the ground. He was also treated and released.

Police said they are looking for 12 suspects, descriptions of whom were not immediately available.
