Police say a Wichita man helped officers catch two burglars by chasing them with a pitchfork. It happened just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of South Cheyenne.
Officials say the man called 911 after seeing two teenagers who appeared to be burglarizing his elderly neighbor's home. He then threatened the suspects with a pitchfork and chased them away from the house.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the victim's home had been ransacked. They discovered the two suspects, ages 16 and 19, hiding nearby. They were both booked into jail on burglary charges.
The victim, an 86-year-old woman, was not home at the time. No injuries were reported.
