WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita woman is undergoing a mental evaluation after police say she hit an officer and a paramedic during a disturbance last night in southeast Wichita.
An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of South Fabrique just before 7 p.m. Sunday on a disturbance with a weapon call.
When he arrived, he found a naked woman in the basement. According to police she became belligerent and verbally abusive, saying she wanted to kill someone as she tried to climb into the ceiling.
As the officer took her into custody, police say she headbutted and kicked him, tearing his uniform. Soon after, she reportedly kicked a paramedic as she was being transported to an ambulance.
Police believe the 36-year-old woman was under the influence of drugs. She was taken to a local hospital to undergo a mental evaluation, and she could face charges once she's released.
