One man was killed and another seriously hurt in an accident in eastern Kansas. It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 54 in Bourbon County about three miles east of Fort Scott.
Kansas Highway Patrol officials say the driver of a car was westbound on U.S. 54 when he drifted left of center and struck a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. He has been identified as 22-year-old Justin Hueston, of Mapleton.
The 24-year-old driver of the car was taken to a Missouri hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is under investigation.
