WICHITA, Kan.-- Wichita State University officials project more students in the 2014-2015 academic year.
Incoming freshmen applications to the university are up by 89-percent. There have been 6,519 applications submitted to the university, compared to 3,445 at the same time last year.
The number reduces when those applicants are upgraded to admitted status. Admissions to WSU are up by 39-percent. There are 3,795 incoming freshmen who have been admitted to WSU, compared to 2,724 at the same time last year.
All students entering WSU for the first time submit an application for admission and a non-refundable $30 application fee to the Office of Admissions.
Housing is also in demand, particularly at the new 784-bed residence hall. There have been a total of 892 applications to Shocker Hall and 792 have paid to reserve a spot.
