Wichita, Kan. -- A woman was critically injured early Saturday morning at sheriff's deputies say she was intentionally run over.

It happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of south Hemlock in Oaklawn. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says crews were called to the area on the reports of a woman trapped under a vehicle.

When they arrived, they found a 37-year-old woman pinned under a pickup truck. She was taken by EMS to the hospital in critical condition.

After an investigation, deputies took 40-year-old Chester Randall Jr. into custody. Randall was booked of charges of a attempted 1st degree murder.

The sheriff's office says the incident is a case of domestic violence. Investigators plan to present their case to the district attorney's office later this week.
