Man fires shots while trying to rob east Wichita Burger King

WICHITA, Kan. — Officers are searching for a man they say fired shots while trying to rob an east Wichita fast food restaurant.

It happened around 2:30 Monday morning at Burger King in the 11000 block of East Kellogg.

According to Wichita Police, two employees were outside the restaurant on break when a man with a white bag over his head approached. He had a shotgun and asked for the code to the safe..

When the employees refused to give the man information, he fired two shots into the air. Afterwards, he picked up the casings and walked away.

No one was hurt and nothing was taken. The man was described as 5-feet 2-inches tall and 130 pounds. No clothing information was released.
