WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita Police are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed a 58-year-old man.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of South Santa Fe. Police say the man was riding a motorcycle when he collided with the back of a parked pickup truck near the intersection of Santa Fe and Blake.
He was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries. He was taken by EMS to the hospital in very critical condition where he died a short time later.
He's been identified as 58-year-old Kevin Newman.
Police are still investigating what lead up to the accident. So far, officers haven't found anyone in the neighborhood who witnessed what happened.
This is the 29th traffic fatality of the year in Wichita, and the fourth involving a motorcycle.
