Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a Nov. 28 robbery at a southeast Wichita gas station and they are questioning him about possible involvement in several other area robberies.

The man was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of South San Pablo, which is in a neighborhood near Lincoln and Woodlawn and not far from where several robberies have occurred the past few weeks.

A pizza delivery man tells KAKE News he believes the same man robbed him Nov. 19. The victim asked not to be identified.

"He had the same clothes, same outfit, same build, same description, same everything as far as from my robbery," the delivery driver said.

He had just moved to Wichita when he was beaten by two men who tried to take his car near Lincoln and Governeour as he was delivering a pizza Nov. 19.

"Next thing I know, he's pulling a knife on me saying, 'This is a robbery,' and shoves me back into the driver's seat of my car," the victim said.

That attack happened just a couple of neighborhoods away from Harry and Edgemoor, where a Walgreens store was robbed the same night. It also happened just down the street from a Costal Mart that was robbed twice -- once on Nov. 21 and another time on Nov. 23.

A man who looked similar to the man whose image was captured by surveillance cameras in the Walgreens and the Costal Mart robbed the D&T gas station near Lincoln and Woodlawn Nov. 28.

It appeared to be the same man who robbed Lamar's Liquor near Pawnee and Seneca Thursday evening.

Police are also questioning the man arrested Friday about even more robberies. The delivery driver who spoke with KAKE News is confident his attack was one of those robberies.

"I had a couple of stab wounds, lacerations on my chest; a bunch of trauma to my head," he said, describing the injuries he suffered Nov. 19.

While the attack sent him to the hospital, the robber and his accomplice did not get away with much.

"They took some pizzas," the victim said Friday afternoon. "But that's really all they got away with besides just the terror of just now moving to this area and now I have to deal with this and know they're still out there."

While detectives say they are questioning the man they arrested Friday night in connection with the Nov. 28 robbery, they are not yet calling him a suspect in the other robberies.

The Wichita Police Department is expected to release more information Monday.
