Harvard Student's Death Ruled Accidental Drowning

The Maine medical examiner's office says a Harvard Business School student's death was an accidental drowning.

Nathan Bihlmaier of Cambridge, Mass., went missing early Sunday after he was told to leave a waterfront bar for being visibly intoxicated. The 31-year-old's body was recovered from Portland Harbor by divers Tuesday, and the autopsy was conducted Wednesday in Augusta.

Bihlmaier was last seen when he was asked to leave the Ri Ra Irish Pub where he was celebrating his upcoming graduation with two friends.

Bihlmaier, who was married and whose wife is expecting their first child, was scheduled to graduate from Harvard Business School
on Thursday.

He was a native of Osborne, Kan., and a University of Kansas graduate.

Maine police say they have recovered from Portland Harbor the body of a Harvard Business School student who disappeared while celebrating his upcoming graduation with two friends.

Divers returned to the harbor Tuesday after finding clothing Monday belonging to 31-year-old Nathan Bihlmaier of Cambridge, Mass. Police said his body was recovered around noon Tuesday.

Police say Bihlmaier was separated from friends after being asked to leave a waterfront pub at 12:20 a.m. Sunday because he was intoxicated. He later failed to return to his hotel.

Bihlmaier is a native of Osborne, Kan., and a University of Kansas graduate.

His wife is pregnant with their first child. He was due to graduate Thursday.

Divers with side-scanning sonar are expected to return to Portland Harbor to search for a Harvard Business School student from Kansas who disappeared while celebrating his upcoming graduation with two friends.

Divers are scheduled to return to the water on Tuesday after finding clothing Monday belonging to 31-year-old Nathan Bihlmaier of Cambridge, Mass.

Police say Bihlmaier was asked to leave a waterfront pub at 12:20 a.m. Saturday because he was visibly intoxicated. He was separated from his friends and failed to return to his hotel. He was reported missing by the friends on Sunday.

Bihlmaier is a native of Osborne, Kan. and a graduate of the University of Kansas.

His wife is pregnant with their first child and he was scheduled to graduate Thursday.
