  • 1/28/13 – 10530 E. 37th Street North – loss of extension cords - $350
  • 6/3/13 –  2200 S. Webb Road – loss 275 gallons gas $1,070, damage $385
  •  10/9/13 – 17500 W. 71st Street South – loss 238 gallons gas, 330 gallons diesel - $1,900 loss and $2,090 damage
  •  1/8/14 –  2200 S. Webb Road – vandalism to tractor, loss $1,500
  •  1/17/14 –  2200 S. Webb Road – loss 100 gallons gas, 190 gallons diesel, tools and a trailer $9,770, damages of $1,371
  •  5/19/14 – 14S005108 – 4701 S. West Street – loss 559 gallons gas, tools and a trailer $16,015, damage of $1,250

WICHITA, Kan. -- Investigators are looking for a suspect who broke into a southwest Wichita maintenance facility owned by Sedgwick County. The thief made off with equipment and hundreds of gallons of gas.

The incident happened at the Sedgwick County maintenance facility in the 4700 block of S. West Street sometime between the evening of Friday, May 16 and the morning of Monday the 19th.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect used a tractor inside the facility to move concrete barricades and leave with hundreds of gallons of gasoline.

Once inside, the suspect stole generators, saws, nailers, a flatbed trailer and 559 gallons of unleaded gasoline.

The loss is estimated at $16,015 with $1,300 in damages. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
