WICHITA, Kan. -- You may think the winter weather would be bad for retail business and in some cases that's true.
However, a few businesses actually thrive in this kind of weather. For Papa John's Pizza it was as big as the Superbowl Sunday.
They had to bring everyone in for Tuesday's big snowstorm and Wednesday's cold weather with business up 50% over a normal day.
It's taking drivers longer than usual to reach their destinations on slick streets. But Papa John's Terry Newman says most people understand. And they have plenty of drivers. "The plus is college was out so a lot of our drivers are part time college students," said Newman. "So we had a lot of employees in here yesterday."
It was so busy even Newman made some deliveries. And they had to slow down the pizza making to keep pace with slower deliveries.
But Newman said he'll take a 50% increase in business any day.
