Wichita Police used tear gas on a crowd that wouldn't disperse early Friday morning.

It happened Friday in Old Town, in the 200 block of North Mosley as the area clubs were closing.

Police officers were already in the area, and moved in when a disturbance broke out outside one of the clubs.

When officers were unable to get the crowd around the disturbance to disperse, they deployed one canister of tear gas.

The gas was effective and the crowd broke up. One person complained of irritation from the gas and was checked by EMS, but didn't require hospitalization.

No one else was injured and police made one arrest.
