Investigators are treating the case of a body found in a northeast Sedgwick County ditch as a homicide.

A man who was walking his dog made the discovery shortly before 7:30 this morning in the 8000 block of North Oliver just north of Kechi. The body was in a ditch on the east side of the road.

Lt. Dave Mattingly of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said they've identified the body as 23-year-old Deandre Freeman, Jr., but it's too early to tell how he died.
