The NCAA announced locations for the 2011-2013 men's basketball championships and Wichita's Intrust Bank arena did not make the list.
Wichita had submitted a bid to host 1st and 2nd round games in any of the three years.

Other midwest cities, including Tulsa, Denver and Omaha did make the list.

The Intrust Bank Arena is scheduled to open in January, 2010.

St. Louis will host the Midwest Regional for
the NCAA men's basketball tournament in 2012, and Kansas City will
be the site of first- and second-round men's games in 2013.

The NCAA on Monday announced tournament sites for men's games
from 2011 through 2013. An official with the St. Louis Convention &
Visitors Commission says the economic impact of the regional will
be at least $8 million.

The 2012 Midwest Regional will be at the Edward Jones Dome. The
2013 first- and second-round games in Kansas City will be at the
Sprint Center.

Both Missouri cities have long histories hosting NCAA basketball
events. St. Louis has hosted men's tournament events 11 times.
Kansas City has been involved with the tournament 28 times.
