Many smokers feared spending big bucks after the state's 46-cent per pack cigarette tax kicked in on Monday.
Smokers were pleasantly surprised this when that extra money didn't ring up at the register.
Some cigarette companies are offering special sales to absorb the extra cost while smokers adjust to the hike.
Smokers shouldn't get too comfortable though. These sales are set to end in about a month.
