A judge says the trial for former
Westar Energy C-E-O and his personal banker could last until the
middle of next week.

Jury selection began today after banker Clinton Weidner pleaded
guilty to making false bank entries. He still faces one count of
conspiracy and another of money laundering.

Also on trial is David Wittig. He faces four counts of making
false bank entries, conspiracy and money laundering. The two also
could forfeit one-point-five million dollars to the federal
governement to offset a loan that is the focus of the case against
them.

U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson thinks jury selection will
last at least another day.
