Gas Line Repaired In Meade County

Repairs on a broken gas line in Meade County have been completed. The work wrapped up around 2:00 a.m.
Just before 6:00 p.m. Monday, Marvin Stice, the Emergency Management Director for Meade County said the main gas line going into the city of Plains was severed. A farmer fertilizing his field accidentally hit the gas line.
The gas company went door to door asking all resident to turn their thermostats down as much as possible until the problem is fixed.
Between 600 and 800 homes were affected by the leak.
