The City of Wichita is hit by more allegations that it's wasting your money.

You may remember, a KAKE News investigation revealed on Sunday the city auditor is not fulfilling her stated job duties. She has never done a financial audit, and the city will not release any information about the audits she has performed.

Today's allegations were discrepencies in the city's bidding process or what some call the lack of a bidding process. They say the city is throwing away money.

At the Performance Assessment Center, workers perform physicals for companies. They were hoping they could do the same for the city. They bid on the city contract and were very surprised when they didn't get it.

They later found out the city did not accept any bids. They say the contract was renewed with the previous company who didn't have to re-bid.

They asked the city manager's office for an audit, which was performed. But they say the city manager won't release the information.

Taxpayer Delia Lopez wonders if this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Delia says, "What it says to me is someone's not minding the store and we have a lot of issues with our taxpayer dollas and we need to be making sure we are spending them correctly and being accountable to the taxpayer."

Wichita Mayor Carlos Mayans says, "That's one of the things we are trying to do is review the internal process to see how they work and how we can make them better."

Mayor Mayans tells KAKE News he will sit down with the city auditor to review her job description.
