Police are calling the death of Trenton Larson a tragic accident.
Investigators say the two-year-old was visiting his grandparents the 1600 block of north Clarence on Friday.
He and several other children had spent the morning playing in the backyard pool. Family members say the child had been put down for a nap when he apparently wandered outside and found his way into the pool.
Investigators say he could have been under water for up to twenty minutes before anyone realized he was missing.
Family, firefighters, and paramedics tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the boy. He later died at the hospital.
