Wichita planemaker Cessna announced job cuts and a furlough Thrusday. Cessna plans to shut down its Caravan and Citation production lines from June 2 to July 18.
In addition, Cessna plans to reduce its workforce in excess of 1,200 employees. Notices will be given to affected workers beginning March 31.
Cessna plans the cuts on uncertain worldwide economic conditions.
Cessna currently employs 9200 people in Wichita, and 10,800 worldwide.
