A Western Kansas man whose girlfriend reportedly stayed in the bathroom for nearly two years pleaded not guilty to neglect charges Wednesday afternoon.

Kory McFarren appeared before a judge in Ness County Court.

McFarren pleaded not guilty to mistreatment of a dependent adult. The case gained worldwide headlines back in March. Authorities say McFarren's girlfriend had sat on the toilet for so long she was physically stuck to the toilet seat. McFarren said he tried to convince his girlfriend to come out, but she was overcome by fear.

He was in court Wednesday facing a second and unrelated charge as well, for lewd and lascivious behavior concerning a neighbor.

McFarren will have a pretrial hearing on June 13th for both charges. If he's found guilty, McFarren faces up to a year in jail.

sounds like the guys neighbors to the north of him aren't the greatest family. the mother likes to play with other women in the garage snapping each others bras. didn't know you were seen by other kids. parents are on the internet looking for other swingers using the dogs name nitro as their name.if you help out with the ambulance when they get a call you are not to talk about it. sounds like somebody forgot to do that. that includes the police dept. sounds like a law suit. maybe people will start minding their own business because i could tell the press things that happen around here.

The police have also had trouble with this guy in the past for exposing himself to people. I would have to say Ive already made some judgements on the guy. The courts know their job well?Hahahahaahahha

The story is not totally clear for the readers, so we need to hear the other side before we judge. Let the Court decide the case -they know very well their job.

You know what? Guess it would have been better to have left her there unattended. Oh but wait, they'd get him for neglect then too. He was darned if he did and darned if he did't!

I don't see anybody bringing charges against the individuals who deliver food to people so obese that thay are bedridden. Should he have gotten help sooner? Absolutely. But was it really a crime when it was her decision to stay there?

1 QUESTION DID THE GIRLFRIEND PRESS CHARGES ON HIM? IF NOT I WOULD THINK THEY DO NOT HAVE A CASE.#2 WHY WAS THE GIRLFRIEND AFRAID TO LEAVE THE TOILET? ALOT OF HOLES IN THIS STORY. LETS HEAR FROM THE GIRLFREIND.
