Sprint to Lay Off 2,100

Sprint announces 2,100 more layoffs for the next year. It's part of the suburban Kansas City Company's effort to reorganize and return to profitability.

Sprint says it will combine network, information technology and billing operations for several divisions. The goal is to save up to $145 million a year.

The layoffs are the latest in a series Sprint has made trying to stem its losses. The tele-communications industry has been going through rough financial times for several years.
