Wichita Police arrested 11 people at a party on Sunday morning after party-goers refused to leave.
Officers were called to a large disturbance at a home in the 2100 block of S. Poplar shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Neighbors called about a party with possibly 40-50 people. They reportedly said party-goers were outside and being too loud.
When officers arrived, they made contact with the party host, who asked police to assist in having the party shut down. Officers asked people to leave but several individuals refused.
"Several of the individuals within the house took exception to the officers asking them to leave. They felt that they were entitled to be there. Several of them started pointing fingers at the officers that were there," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police.
Investigators say one individual took a stance and swung and hit an officer.
The three initial officers requested back up to contain the scene. By the time the scene was cleared out 29 officers made it there.
Officers arrested 11 people, ranging in ages from 16 to 51, for various charges, including underage drinking. One person was taken to the hospital for minor cuts to the hand.
