Wichita police are looking for a man who reportedly stabbed and killed his ex-girlfriend's pet snake after breaking into her apartment.

The incident reportedly happened late Friday night at an apartment in the 1700 block of S. Cypress.

Police reports show the woman, 22, told investigators her ex-boyfriend broke into her home through the front door, stealing some of her belongings and stabbing her pet snake to death. She says she came home and found the man still in her apartment.

Police have issued a warrant for the man's arrest. He could face felony charges of burglary, damage to property, and animal cruelty.
