A Wichita man now facing attempted second degree murder charges after a hit and run accident in Reno County over the weekend.

Antahj Jenkins is behind bars after authorities say he ran over two people with his car at a party outside Hutchinson early Sunday morning.

Bethany Shultz says they were having a going away party for her step-brother who is leaving for Iraq when dozens of strangers started showing up, causing fights. She says she looked up to see her friends Matt Price and Kayla Coley lying on the ground.

"This can't be happening. Matt is a very good friend of mine. He's such a good friend of mine. He's blind. He didn't see it coming. He didn't deserve it, " said Shultz.

Kayla Coley was holding Price's arm when they were hit. She said it was horrible.

"I don't remember getting hit. I woke up on the ground and knew I'd been hit," said Coley.

Witnesses say Jenkins drove off. Authorities arrested him near Wichita Sunday. Both victims are expected to be ok.
