More and more children are being home-schooled, but miss out on some of the exercise students receive from physical education class in traditional schools.
The Wichita YMCA is now offering a physical education class for home-schooled students.
Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2 p.m. and include activities such as rock wall climbing, swimming, gymnastics and team sports. Five instructors are designated for class and children are divided by age group.
The cost is $25 per child per month for members and $50 for non-members.
Instructors from the Wichita YMCA will be available at the Teaching Parents Association Convention at Century II the first weekend in June.
