WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A woman accused in the shooting death of a 19-year-old in Old Town last month has been released from jail on bond. 

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wichita Bonding Company posted the $500,000 bond for 19-year-old La'Niha Banks and she was released late Thursday morning. Police arrested Banks on Tuesday, more than two weeks after the May 20 shooting.

Banks faces eight charges, including first-degree murder, in connection to the death of La'Tionna Johnson

Prosecutors have charged a suspect in the shooting death of a young woman who broke up a fight in Old Town.

The Wichita Police Department said 19-year-old La'Niha Banks was arrested Tuesday and booked for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm. She was officially charged Wednesday afternoon and remains held on $500,000 bond.

The shooting happened at around 11 p.m. Saturday, March 20 near 1st Street and Washington. Wichita police said 19-year-old La'Tionna Johnson broke up a fight between a friend and Banks. As Banks was driving away, she allegedly shot Johnson twice.
