WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Police have identified a 23-year-old man who died after being pulled from a lake at a Wichita park on Sunday.

Wichita police said Austin Pedersen died about 90 minutes after officials say he went into the water at OJ Watson Park. At the time, Wichita Police Department spokesperson Andrew Ford said it was reported that Pedersen had gone into the water after a ball.

A witness reported Pedersen's eyes rolled back in his head and he went under the water, Public Information Officer Ford said.

The Wichita Fire Department located Pedersen about an hour after the initial call. CPR was performed at the scene and while en route to a local hospital, where Pedersen was pronounced dead at around 2:30 p.m.

Family has put together a GoFundMe to support loved ones. Pederson was set to get married in June, family shares. He and his fiancé have a 4-year-old son.
