WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A man is dead following a crash on Kellogg in east Wichita.

The crash happened just after midnight on Friday morning in the eastbound lane of Kellogg by Oliver. It shut down Kellogg from Oliver to Hillside for most of the night. It is now back open.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found a man dead. Wichita police talked to witnesses who say a couple of vehicles may have been racing when one went off the side of the road and hit a barrier wall.

Police say highways are not the place to race. "We have speed limits for a reason, right? And legal avenues and drag racing and speedways for a reason. We ask everyone to obey the law for this very scenario," says Wichita Police Lt. Chad Remy.

Lt. Remy says they're using additional technology to look for a second vehicle that may be involved in the crash.
