KINGMAN, Kan. (KAKE) - A cattle truck driver suffered critical injuries in a rollover crash in Kingman County early Thursday morning.

The accident happened at around 3:20 a.m. on K-14 a few miles south of Kingman. Local emergency medical services said first responders found the driver trapped in the cab and requested assistance from Sedgwick County.

"A full-scale rapid extrication resulted in raising the semi-truck while cribbing, using the jaws of life to make access and successfully removing the driver. The semi driver was transported in critical but stable condition," Sedgwick County Fire District 1 said on Facebook.

Kingman EMS said the semi was transporting a load of cattle, which complicated the rescue operation.

"However, with coordinated efforts and unwavering dedication, responders commenced cattle recovery and cleanup."

Authorities did not say whether any cattle were injured or killed.
