WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A Hindu community center went up in flames in south Wichita. Security video shows the person who set the fire. Now investigators hope you can help identify the suspect.

Burned up mattresses still sit outside the Bhakta Community Center on Hydraulic just south of Kellogg.

Investigators say someone set fire to those mattresses on March 17th just after 10:30 that night.

Security video clearly shows someone ride up to the building on a bike. You then see the person light the mattresses on fire.

"From there the mattresses get fully engulfed in flames," said Crime Stoppers Coordinator Kris Gupilan. "It then spreads onto the exterior of the building."

The fire quickly took on a life of it's own, burning the side of the community center. Crime Stoppers Coordinator Kris Gupilan says it caused $60,000 in damage.

The owner, who didn't have time for an on camera interview, says he was stunned. He has no idea why someone would intentionally try to destroy the Hindu community center that serves 80 to 100 people.

In the meantime, arson investigators are hoping someone will recognize the suspect, and turn him in to Crime Stoppers.

"The video quality is great," said Gupilan. "If you look, you can even tell that the person riding his bike, the hat he's wearing, the gold sticker. So there's somebody out there who can identify who this person is and that's where Crime Stoppers can play a pivotal role in this case."
