WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A water line break at a building on the Wichita State University campus is forcing classes and offices to be temporarily relocated for the remainder of the semester.

Last Friday, a chilled water line break flooded the basement mechanical room of the Corbin Education Center, which serves as the home of the College of Applied Studies. The break damaged data lines, the HVAC system, and electrical and other infrastructure.

The university is setting up a website to direct students, instructors and faculty on next steps.

The university anticipates a September reopening for the building, which was designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Events planned for Corbin, such as a 60th anniversary celebration, will be postponed until fall 2024.
