Kansas fire departments receive $91,000 equipment grant
DERBY, Kan. (KAKE) - Three Kansas fire department have received an equipment grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
The Derby Fire Department, Mulvane Fire Department and Sedgwick County Fire District 1 have received a $91,000 grant for new lifesaving equipment from Firehouse Subs.
To celebrate, local Firehouse Subs franchisees Megan and Andrew Reece hosted an event to recognize the grant on Tuesday.
In a statement, a Firehouse Subs representative said the Derby Fire Department received a vehicle stabilization kit that is worth $35,936, and both the Mulvane Fire Department and Sedgwick County Fire District 1 received extradition equipment worth $55,275.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has, to date, awarded over $81 million to fire departments across the US.
