WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Two parents have been charged in connection to the October 2023 death of a one-year-old child.

Brijin McCullough, 31, and Wilma Presley, 36, were both charged with first-degree murder and aggravated endangerment of a child on Monday. McCullough has also been charged with two additional counts of aggravated endangerment of a child.

On October 31, 2023, emergency crews responded to the Walmart at Pawnee and Broadway where a woman reported her one-year-old son was unresponsive. EMS took the child to a Wichita hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

McCullough, the father, was originally booked on January 5 on unrelated charges before suspicion of first-degree murder was added to his list of charges. Presley, the child's mother, was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder and other unrelated charges.
