WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The victims of a double homicide in an east Wichita shooting on Saturday morning have been identified.

The Wichita Police Department says 35-year-old Christopher Harrell and 35-year-old Natisha Phillips, both of Wichita, both died as a result of a shooting in the 7300 block of east Kellogg Saturday morning. 

Police officers were dispatched to a shooting call around 9:30 a.m. and located the two victims. Harrell was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, and Phillips was pronounced deceased on the scene. 

Officers also located a young child at the scene, who was unharmed. Police are using resources to address any psychological or medical needs.

WPD says the subsequent investigation led to the apprehension of a 20-year-old suspect, who is currently in custody and will face charges of Capital Murder, Child Endangerment and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under active investigation.

The Wichita Police Department urges anyone with information on this case and who has not spoken with investigators, to please call the WPD Investigators at 316-268-4407, or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. The case number is 24C032770.

An online fundraiser has been set up by Malika Phillips, the mother of Natisha Phillips, to help with funeral expenses.

"My only child was a mother of four beautiful children who was taken from us by violence," Phillips said on the GoFundMe page. "She was murdered in cold blood for unknown reasons. We are in dire need to lay her to rest and any donation that our community can come together and donate would be appreciated to help with the expenses that come with this tragedy. Fly high baby girl! 

A GoFundMe has also been set up to help with Christopher Harrell's funeral expenses. The family is trying to bring him back to Arkansas where he can be laid to rest. According to the GoFundMe, Harrell is survived by his two sons. If you would lick to donate, click here.
