WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Wichita Police Department is investigating a homicide where a 23-year-old has lost his life. 

WPD shares around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were monitoring a business in the 10000 block of E. Kellogg when they heard multiple gunshots. When officers responded to what they heard, they located a man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Jaylon Pete. 

Two others were also struck by gunfire during this shooting, WPD says those individuals are two males, ages 26 and 24, both also from Wichita. Their conditions are currently non-life threatening.

"Preliminary findings from the ongoing investigation suggest that a disturbance took place inside the business leading up to the shooting. The exact circumstances leading up to this disturbance are still under active investigation. Detectives and officers are working diligently to determine the sequence of events. At this stage in the investigation, the suspect is still outstanding," WPD shared in a release.

WPD says they will be holding a press conference about this and other shooting investigations on Monday at 11 a.m. at City Hall.
