WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police have arrested a man and woman and 63-year-old man in connection to the shooting death of a 51-year-old man at a motel earlier this week. 

The Wichita Police Department said they have arrested 50-year-old Monicie Ramirez of Wichita and 63-year-old Kevin Harris of Lawrence for first-degree murder and contempt of court. 

Police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said officers responded just after 12 a.m. Monday to the Auto Motel in the 1200 block of North Broadway and found 51-year-old Jose Lumbreras was unresponsive and had suffered gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. 

Police have not said what led up to the shooting.

Wichita police say a man has died after suffering injuries outside a motel on the city's north side. 

Officers initially responded just after 12 a.m. Monday to a "cutting" call at the Auto Motel in the 1200 block of North Broadway. They arrived to find the victim on the ground and unresponsive. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. 

Police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said the victim sustained fatal injuries and the cause is still being investigated. He did not elaborate on the type of injuries. 

"Currently, investigators are following up on promising leads and have been working on this case since the early hours of this morning," Officer Gupilan said, adding that investigators were still working to identify the victim and notify next of kin. "Our community is harmed by crimes that demonstrate a lack of respect for human life."
