Man dies after Sumner County crash that also killed Clearwater councilmember
CALDWELL, Kan. (KAKE) - A man has died following a crash on Sunday that also killed a south-central Kansas councilmember.
Sumner County Undersheriff Mike Westmoreland said Robert Davis, of Enid, Oklahoma, died at a Wichita hospital early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Sunday at 130th Street South and K-49 highway, a few miles north of Caldwell. The sheriff's office said Davis' southbound pickup went off the road and he overcorrected. The truck crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a northbound Chevy Corvette.
The driver of the Corvette, William Titterington II, a Clearwater city councilmember died at the scene.

A south-central Kansas councilman was killed when a pickup crashed head-on into his car over the weekend, officials confirmed Monday.
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Sunday at 130th St. S. and K-49 highway, a few miles north of Caldwell. A Sumner County deputy said a man was driving a pickup on K-49 when he left the road, overcorrected and crashed head-on into an oncoming Corvette.
The City of Clearwater said on Facebook that Councilmember William "Tex" Titterington was driving the Corvette. He died in the collision. The other driver's condition was unknown.
"On behalf of the entire governing body and staff from the City of Clearwater, we offer our sincere condolences on the tragic loss of William 'Tex' Titterington," the city's post says. "Our thoughts, prayers and love goes out to Michelle and the entire family."
The accident remains under investigation.
