WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A third suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 36-year-old man early Saturday morning.

Shaun O'Brien, 41, was booked Tuesday afternoon for first-degree murder, according Sedgwick County Jail records. He was held without bond Wednesday morning.

Police previously arrested 48-year-old Jorge Romero Jr. and 47-year-old Adonis Andrews for first-degree murder and other charges. The three suspects are accused in the killing of Christian Santiago who was found dead in an SUV near 21st Street North and Hillside.

O'Brien has prior convictions of criminal threat, domestic battery, battery and robbery, Kansas corrections records show.

May 2, 2023:

Wichita police say they have arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a 36-year-old man over the weekend. 

WPD said in a release that 48-year-old Jorge Romero Jr. had been arrested for first-degree murder. No bond was set. 

Police previously arrested 47-year-old Adonis Andrews for first-degree murder and other charges.

Officers found the victim, Christian Santiago, dead in an SUV near 21st Street North and Hillside while responding to a shooting call early Saturday morning.

The release said Romero was identified as a suspect and located Tuesday in the 1200 block of West Casado Street, near 27th Street South and Seneca. Investigators believe the suspects and victim knew each other.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Romero has prior convictions that include burglary, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, robbery and criminal damage to property.


April 29, 2023:

Police have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection to a deadly shooting in northeast Wichita over the weekend. 

Sedgwick County Jail records show Adonis Andrews was booked Sunday morning for first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated burglary criminal possession of a weapon, distribution of drugs, a state hold, a parole violation and failure to appear. He was held on $250,000 bond Tuesday morning. 

Officers responded just before 4 a.m. Saturday to a shooting in the 2800 block of East Stadium Drive, near 21st Street North and Hillside. They arrived to find 36-year-old Christian Santiago dead in the front passenger seat of a white SUV, Wichita police said in a release. 

WPD spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said Andrews was arrested in the Oaklawn area an that investigators believe Andrews and Santiago knew each other. 

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Andrews is on parole for drug convictions. He also has prior drug and criminal threat convictions. He was last paroled on December 22, 2022.
