WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A suspect in a Texas homicide case, who was arrested in Wichita after leading police on a high-speed chase, is facing multiple charges including fleeing an officer and aggravated battery. 

Police began chasing Derek Daigneault on April 8 after getting an alert on the FLOCK system saying his car was connected with a homicide case in Texas. 

The chase ended in a crash at 13th and Tyler where police arrested him after he ran into a Dillions. 

Daigneault has been charged with: 

  • Two counts of fleeing or attempting to elude: driving the wrong way into the opposing lane.
  • One count of fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer by driving recklessly.
  • One count of aggravated battery.
  • One count of Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon. 
  • One count of possession of THC. 

Daigneault will next appear in court on April 27. His bond was set at $100,000.
