Network security incidents continue to happen globally but are happening locally more often than they should.

Tuesday, Newton Public School experienced a security breach, and a little over a year ago a Hays school experienced the same thing.

The CEO of Soteria Technology Solutions, Bill Ramsey, said when security network issues happen to like the one at Newton, it takes time to examine what specific data was compromised and how it happened. This could explain why school officials issued a statement announcing that the school will reopen on Friday, March 31.

Ramsey said companies should have a good disaster recovery plan to get back up and running as quickly as possible. Ramsey recommends immutable backups and said, "These are backups that once they've been made, they can't be changed."
