WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A teenager was treated and released from a Wichita hospital after being shot during a robbery on Monday.

The Wichita Police Department said officers were called out to the 200 block of North Rock Road just before 6 p.m. Witnesses told police that a man with a gunshot wound drove away from the scene in a black vehicle.

While investigating the scene, Wichita Dispatch informed the WPD that a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his lower body had driven himself to the hospital. He was treated and released the same day. After speaking with the teenager, police believe this was not a random incident.
