SCRANTON, Kan. (KAKE) - An eastern Kansas sheriff says a toddler died after being found in a hot vehicle on Sunday.
The Osage County Sheriff's Office said the 2-year-old was found unresponsive in a vehicle in Scranton at around 3:40 p.m. First responders immediately began lifesaving measures, but the child was pronounced dead at a Topeka hospital, KTKA reports.
The sheriff's office did not identify the child.
The incident is under investigation, but investigators don't believe the child was left in the vehicle.
