WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A spokesperson for the Wichita Police Department says a 1-year-old boy has died following an incident at a motel on south side Saturday. 

Emergency crews responded at around 6 a.m. to a call at the Heritage Inn at 4539 South Broadway. Officer Chad Ditch said the child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Ditch said additional information, including a cause of death, would not be available until the department hears back from the Regional Forensic Science Center, which could take weeks or months.
