MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued an Emergency Order of Suspension to the Golden Explorers daycare in McPherson.

"State law allows the Secretary of KDHE to issue such an order when, in the opinion of the Secretary," the press release from KDHE read. "The order is necessary to protect children in the home from any potential threat to health or safety."

A daycare provider was arrested by the McPherson Police Department for suspicion of aggravated endangering a child and driving under the influence.

This happened on June 29 around 10:48 when McPherson Police Officers responded to a call for an incident in the 100 Block of South Park Street in McPherson. The call was about a young child nd a dog being found and unsupervised in someone’s backyard near a pool.

When officers arrived on the scene, they didn't just find one child, they found four children between the ages of 2 and 5 years-old. It was discovered that the children left a daycare in the 700 Block of East Kansas Avenue and made their way to this area.

Officers then made contact with the Daycare Provider, 47-year-old Tracy Barr and another child in the 700 Block of East Kansas Avenue.

The children were then taken into protective custody and then later release back to their parents or guardians.
 
Barr was arrested for aggravated endangering a child and driving under the influence. She was booked into McPherson County Jail and her bond was set at $13,750.00.
