DERBY, Kan. (KAKE) - Derby police have identified a 27-year-old man who was killed in a head-on crash Wednesday night.

Police Chief Robert Lee said Kurtis Tabor died at the scene of the crash. It happened just before 10 p.m. on Patriot Avenue near Rough Creek Road when Tabor's eastbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle. One of the vehicles caught fire. 

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a juvenile, was hospitalized in critical condition. 

Lee said it was reported that Tabor's was driving erratically and at a high rate of speed. Tabor was ejected from his vehicle and became pinned underneath it.

The crash remains under investigation. Additional information has not been released.
