WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - According to the Wichita Police Department, two men from Youngtown, Arizona were arrested for drug possession and distribution. The arrests stemmed from a traffic stop that WPD conducted in the 4700 block of S. Santa Fe.

The two men were 35-year-old Victor Nunez and 35-year-old Huber Arzete.

On March 28, a WPD detective assigned to a DEA task force stopped a car exiting the turnpike onto 47th Street South. The car was a Cadillac Escalade being driven by Nunez, Arzete and a 12-year-old boy.

After a search was conducted, approximately 7,000 fentanyl pills were seized that are believed to have originated in Mexico, bound for Missouri.

Both Nunez and Arzete were booked into the Sedgwick County Jail.

A Facebook post by WPD also said that "WPD continues to work daily to address the issues of fentanyl and other dangerous drugs being brought into our community."
