WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Wichita Police Department has arrested 11 people in connection to ongoing gambling investigations. 

Department spokesperson Officer Charley Davidson said Thursday in a release that they have received multiple complaints of illegal gambling at multiple locations throughout Wichita.

In response, the WPD Vice Investigations Section began enforcement operations at locations allowing illegal gambling. Davidson did not disclose the locations. 

Police identified those arrested over the last three weeks as follows:

  • 49-year-old Arlando Trotter of Wichita – multiple counts of commercial gambling and possession of gambling devices;
  • 55-year-old William Borboa of Wichita – possession of a firearm by a felon, commercial gambling;
  • 42-year-old James Bradford of Wichita – commercial gambling;
  • 54-year-old Valerie Henry of Wichita – commercial gambling;
  • 44-year-old Theraesa Ponds of Wichita – permit gambling, possession of marijuana;
  • 33-year-old Antoine White of Wichita – commercial gambling;
  • 59-year-old Virgil Vaughn of Wichita – commercial gambling, traffic charges;
  • 56-year-old Volonda Trotter of Wichita – two counts of commercial gambling;
  • 45-year-old Kenneth Porter of Wichita – two counts of commercial gambling, possession of marijuana;
  • 49-year-old Lewis Iverson of Wichita – two counts of commercial gambling; and
  • 61-year-old Artis Washington – two counts of commercial gambling.

Along with the arrests, Wichita police also seized firearms, cash and gambling devices.

Additional information was not provided. The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Sedgwick County district attorney's office.
